Probably best to return the 7I96S for evaluation
since it seems like a hardware issue.

I connected my mesa card to another older PC I had and it successfully started and connected Linuxcnc and controlled the motors. This PC is running 2.9.0

One thing I did different while installing the Linux cnc os on my newer computers was having it connected to the Internet network on the Ethernet port. It was having issues installing without a Internet connection.

I'll retry installing Linuxcnc os without a Ethernet connection

It finally works!!! Reinstalled Linux cnc but this time didn't connect to the Internet. Attached photos of the error I was having. Before it wouldn't let me continue and said the grub wasn't installed and when I tried to do it more errors came up. Luckily it went through this time. Thank you everyone for the help. Is this a normal problem? I find it weird that the installation describes to connect to the Internet but that's causing issues. Maybe a bigger underlying issue

If you have a single Ethernet port on the PC, its easiest to use either WIFI or
an added USB Ethernet dongle for internet connectivity (and setup
the added device as the internet connection when installing)
