I can offer some advice on the function keys. The early Bridgeport DX controls had F-keys that served a different purpose on each screen. The result was endless frustration (and the occasional crash) from incorrect keystrokes.

The older Power Automation control had the same problem.

If you have to use a key for more than one function it might be better not to label it as an F-key. People tend to associate those with specific functions.
