thanks for your contribution, but I miss a bit the documentation part. Can you add this?
And it would have been good to let it in via a PR or at least by an announcement on the dev mailing list. I was a bit surprised to see these many changes in the stable branch...

Why is all the GUI code in 'configs/sim/craftsman'? I think the GUI code should be separated from the sample configs and moved to 'src/emc/usr_intf'
You provide three sample configs:
- cnc_settings
- craftsmancnc-axis
- craftsmancnc
What is the use case for the first two? A separate description would help out here. These two configs let this message appear:
Looks like a config for < 2.8
Furthermore the GUI seems to detect the screen size on start and then stretch to this. Resizing lateron doesn't work and it looks distorted on a widescreen:
