Hallo liebes Forum,

PCW , if you read this, he wants to know if he can use mesa 5i20 in combination with stepper/encoder with matching drives plus glass encoders to feed back the position to Linuxcnc to close the loop.
Thanks in adwance.

Yes, any FPGA card with the correct daughter cards for encoders and step/dir outputs can do this

will this combination work?

5i20
7I52 for the glass scale encoder (ttl)

i can't find a daughter card for step/dir
can you tell me which one i can use?

a 7I52S will provide 6 step/dir pairs and 6 encoder inputs

PCW, I am fairly certain he got the diagram right, so can he use a 5i25 instead of 5i20?

Yes a 5I25+7I85S (4 axis) will do the same
