Olli

-
That is the normal generic kernel, it needs the RT kernel to run machines.
What DE version (Mate, xfce, gnome) ?
Did you install from the net ISO or from a DVD/CD ISO image?
When installing LinuxCNC, did it fail with errors pertaining to mising "raspi" stuff?
-
Turn on the PC, hold down the Shift key, at the GRUB menu enter "Advanced options for .... " see if there is an entry containing RT in the name, choose that and press enter. Now do a latency test.

thank you for answering but the installation ends with:
"Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)"
I will reinstall the system again

Thank you,
ok, I thought it was the right kernel, that explains a lot of things of course.
I use xfce4. I don't remember which image I took, but I think it was the small installation image.
The advanced options don't show any RT

Solution:
-Open terminal
-type sudo caja
-open /etc/ folder
-Press ctrl+f and type z50*
-it will find 3 files, delete all 3
-do a sudo apt upgrade again
Everything works, so far.
Reboot.
EDIT:
If using xfce
sudo thunar
instead of
caja
-Open terminal
-type sudo caja
-open /etc/ folder
-Press ctrl+f and type z50*

Error fixed, it was of course due to the non-existent Real Time Kernel.
I have completely rebuilt the system.
Thanks again for your help
Olli
Vielen Dank nochmal fuer eure Hilfe

If you plan to use Mesa boards, try
latency-histogram --nobase --sbinsize 1000 --show
latency-histogram --nobase --sbinsize 1000 --show

Yes, Mesa Boards,
7i92TM -> 7i76 -> 7i85
Ok I will try that, but it will take some time because I still have to build the machine, but I want to finish the software so that it is ready to use.
