Configurar 5 ejes was created by erama

Muchas gracias.

Hi all, a few days ago with a friend we made a machine that handles 4 axes with LinuxCNC but our goal is to make 5-axis LinuxCNC default not allowed to drive 5 axis so I understand. I wonder if anyone has conocimineto how to set 5 axis LinuxCNC to send pulses through the serial port. Any iformación / help is últil.

You can drive 9 axes with Linuxcnc, it is stepconf that is limited to 4 axes, after that you have to edit the ini and hal files yourself to add the extra axes.

There is a 5axis config in 2.5.4, albeit it confusingly actually uses 6 axes.
It is just a sim, so the hal file is not very helpful but the ini file shows how to declare axes when you are using XYZBCW for example

The hal file is just a case of copying existing connections for other axes, changing the signal names, parport, pin and axis numbers to suit

No you cannot control the axes via a serial port

regards

(Translation - hopefully)

saludos
