GladeVCP in LinuxMint was created by BigJohnT
I've got LinuxMint with the Mate desktop up and going with the RTAI kernel and LinuxCNC 2.7 installed. I installed Glade and the version is 3.16.1. There are no LinuxCNC widgets, how do I add them?
Edit: a bit of searching and I found these
forum.linuxcnc.org/forum/48-gladevcp/281...heezy-iso-2-6-0-pre5
sourceforge.net/p/emc/bugs/352/
which seem to indicate that gladevcp is going away because of some issue with newer versions of Glade.

Ok, I found out how to install Glade 3.8 which is the last version to support GTK2.
I wonder what the future is for stuff like this?
JT
sudo apt-get install glade-gtk2

your glade panels will continue to work well into the future.
The ability to edit them in a current distribution is close extinction.
So the two choices is forward port glade-gtk2 (which Ubuntu has done yaay)
or convert gladevcp to use GTK3 and the newer GLADE editor.
I have done work on gladeVCP for gtk3 but am stumbling on a gremlin replacement.
Anyone who is a opengl kinda guy would be very helpful.
There is a branch with most of my work on our repo.

Have you found GTK3 to be stable? When I tried it was kinda buggy. I'll look for your branch in the morning.

my branch is now very behind and incomplete. I don't think I pushed my latest work and it's all for not without a graphics plotter.
The coolest part is I could actually make it so it would use gtk2 or gtk3 depending what was required.
Yes GTK3 with python is difficult to find examples and some libraries have not been converted.
