Default values for MAX_LIMIT and MIN_LIMIT? was created by billooms
If you don't specify MAX_LIMIT and MIN_LIMIT in the .ini file you won't get any error messages. There must be some default value. Does anyone know what the defaults are if you don't specify them in the .ini file?
I'm looking to get as large a value as possible on a rotational axis.

There is no such thing as a default value when it comes to LinuxCNC. I think the maximum a number can be is some ridiculous value like about seventeen significant figures iirc.

Thanks for the info.
I'll put in some really big number (like maybe the national debt).

I don't know if it will take a number that big but you won't run out of turns for sure. A little chat on the IRC and we think the limit is what ever a float would be so like a bunch of digits.
