limit question. was created by revo
i am trying to set my limit
the machine has switches (both limit and home in one on each axis at each side of the limit)
id like to have the machine home in left back corner Z all the way up.

here is the dimension of the machine. Y 29'' X 120'' Z 10''

i would like Z to be at zero when its all the way up and going down in negative.
the x and z moving in positive.

everything that i am doing doesnt work.
can i set the minimum at 0 or its has to be inside of zero?
i mean is the limit befor the limit switch? say limit stitch is 0 the limit would be 0.25 ?

thanks for your help.

Replied by Todd Zuercher on topic limit question.
See
www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/config/ini_homing.html
sections 3.6. HOME_OFFSET and 3.7. HOME
in your hal file you will designate witch limit switch to use as the home switches, the speed and direction of movement is set in the ini file (it may need to be a negative number). Then if you want the home position to be X0,Y29,Z0 (assuming that is your back left corner) you would use those numbers for the home offset and home in the ini file. If you wanted the home position to be .25 away from the switches you would use X-0.25,Y29.25,Z-0.25 for the HOME_OFFSET and X0,Y29,Z0 for HOME and then X0,Y29,Z0 would be a 0.25 from the switches.

Replied by revo on topic limit question.
so for the limit i would put for X min 0 max 120 ,
not 0.25 to 120?

whatever i try it alway say that i exceed soft limits.
