7i76 Limit and Homing Switches was created by 1Mustang
Hello again, i was wondering how to wire up the Mesa 7i76 for Home and limit switches normally closed. The Input sides of TB5 and TB6 don't show where to wire the ground too, for the switches.

Does anyone have a diagram or picture to show how they wired up their Home/Limit switches on the &i76?.

+field power --> SW1 --> SW2 --> 7I76 input

NO/NC can be sorted out in HAL, by inverting the sense of the inputs.

Hey guys

I just started my own cnc-mill-project and also have some question regarding wiring of inductive proximity switches to the 7i76.
If I understood correctly I can use one of the field (8-32V) pins for power supply of all switches (limit and home). Closed current of each switch is 1mA. The signal output of the switch will be wired to a pin of the TB5 or TB6. But which GND pin shall be used?

The field power GND/COMMON should be used with the switches not logic GND
Note the PNP proximity switches are supported directly, NPN switches need external pullup resistors

Hi guys
please, can you help me?

I have 4 wired PNP inductive proximity switches (pls. see attachment PNP.png).
Is it possible to connect to MESA 7i76 without resistors? (pls. see attachment wiring.jpg).
Which GND pin from 7i76 can I use to connect a switch 0V? Or it is possible to use -12V from power source?

Thanks a lot.
Tomas

Use the com of the power supply used for field power.

Don't use the -12V (if there is one)

Connect the 0V of the 12V power supply to TB1 Pin 8 on the 7i76 and to the 0V of the prox.
Connect +12V of the PSU to TB1 Pin 4 (Field power). You probably want Jumper W1 to the Left*
Connect the Sensor +V to the +12V or to TB1 Pin 1, 2 or 3
Then decide whether you want NO or NC (and it really makes no difference, as you can invert in the software) and wire as you have shown.

*Left in the sense that when you read the text on the card the writing is the right way up
