I purchased two of these Sain Smart boards, planed on using one to expand my inputs but I can not get any response from the designated input pins in LinuxCNC pins 10,11,12,13,15 to ground are dead on both boards.
Can some one that is using one of these give me some tips on getting voltage to the input pins?I bought the boards off of E-Bay and got no documentation, e-mailed Sain Smart and they will not provide any support as I did not purchase directly from them.

Can you explain what you mean by "to ground are dead" ?

How do you have it connected to your PC? It can't communicate to Linuxcnc via the USB port. I'm pretty sure that the USB port is only there to power the breakout board, but it is probably required for it to work (or some other 5v source connected to it).

No voltage present between any of the input pins and the designated input ground

That would be normal for opto-isolator inputs. Do you see any activity in HAL if you connect an input to 5V?

I have the parallel port and USB connected.
I discovered this morning that you must provide 12-24 Vdc to the optional power input to enable power to the input pins once that is connected you get a LED next to the input terminal block and 9 Vdc on each of the pins.

Had nothing showing on HAL scope but I did not have any other power connected other than the USB
