mesa 7i76 configuring a spindle encoder

I am trying to setup up a spindle encoder to enable threading I had this working before with a PP but am now trying to configure with the mesa 7i76 I have Linux 2.7.4 using PnCConf I am getting an error message with debug, attached.

I would like to use A + B + index I have connected these to TB3 pins 7,10 and index to 13 on the 7i76

Is this correct and how do I sort the error out?

In the "loadrt" section you need
loadrt scale names=scale.spindle

I will try that Thanks should PnCConf have put that in?

loadrt lowpass names=spindle.lowpass

Andy I have tried that and it still errors. I inserted it like this:-

loadrt trivkins
loadrt [EMCMOT]EMCMOT servo_period_nsec=[EMCMOT]SERVO_PERIOD num_joints=[TRAJ]AXES
loadrt hostmot2
loadrt hm2_pci config=" num_encoders=1 num_pwmgens=0 num_stepgens=5 sserial_port_0=00xxxx"
loadrt scale names=scale.spindle
loadrt lowpass names=spindle.lowpass
setp hm2_5i25.0.watchdog.timeout_ns 5000000
loadrt pid names=pid.x,pid.z,pid.s

attached hal , ini and debug file

See how you have "names=spindle.lowpass" and then the error is "lowpass.spindle.gain, pin not found"

It's my fault, I think, but the fix seems fairly easy.

Hmm, comment out that line, then start LinuxCNC
Then open a terminal and type
halcmd -kf
show pin lowpass*
exit

Thanks for your patience Andy but commenting it out does not let me start LinuxCNC. Tomorrow I will start from scratch with the lathe config and generate a new one. with PnCConf and start again.

its the encoder for the threading I am trying to sort out I am not trying to sort out the spindle speed
