parallel port no signal was created by doityourselfer
I installed LinuxCNC via this ISO image onto a partition of my machine.
I've configured my machine but no signal is being sent to the parallel port.
I was able to control the machine using Grbl and my Arduino.
Any help on why there is no signal on the parallel port?

When using stepconfig on the second page uncheck "sim" or "simulator" or something like this.
I can not recal the exact naming and i am on a tablet so i can not check.

thanks tommylight,
I'm assuming you are referring to the "create simulated hardware configuration" check box which is unchecked but there is still no communication.

More info on the hardware/software would be helpful, but you can edit the address port in the stepconf or hal to 0 (zero) if you have only one paraport. What does sudo lspci -v say?

I just read another forum that suggested finding the lspci -v and after finding out what my port address was and entering it rather than leaving it 0. This Worked!!!
