I am new to this. I am trying to do a bit of CNC work, this is my second attempt at a test piece as I learn CAM/CNC (first piece went fine).

When I try and run the program on the second piece I get the above error.

When I try and run it anyway it moves to the start and then stalls where the next call / line is a plunge into the work.

At this point I have no idea why it will not rough out the piece.

I have 70mm of movement on Z and the piece seems to be about 59mm so I cant fathom why this operation will not run.

line 14 is N50 G43 Z15 H1

it halts here.

I have run a simulation carefully watching the 'cut', it looks fine to me so maybe I have linuxcnc setup wrong?

When its finished its looking just like I expected it to look as a end result.

Ok this is to do with clearance height I think? The work piece is 68mm tall and I only have 70mm max movement. So that Z15 is move up to a safe height?

It looks like you have answered your own question. If the part is 60mm and you only have 70mm in Z height . Then you have touched off in Z you cannot move to Z 15 as that would be more than 70mm.

Yes I ran the piece last night til 11pm went fine....it is indeed a movement to the safe moving height.

Sorry you got to see my thought process!
