Yes, I'm trying to keep within my budget. I've seen the planetary reducers online also, I'll check them out

then get you a >30:1 precice gear planatary on Ebay
i use only wormgear backlash free from Maedler
or as not the big load simply timingbelt 3:1 as i mentiond above give it a shot
IF YOU can spend the money or are willing for a harmonic drive go for it

With that you still need to find the servo (or stepper) motor and the drive. And you probably need some big bearings too.
The FHA-25 that I suggested earlier already has all those things, and the bearings are rated for a load of 500kg radial and 1400kg axial.

I built a couple of other designs (geared-down stepper and motorised worm-drive dividing head) before deciding to spend the money on something perfect for the job instead.
