Help with configuration for new Breakout board was created by aaron
Hi
I am having trouble configuring linuxcnc for a new breakout board and would really appreciate some help.
Could somebody please check my .hal and .ini files and make sure they are correct for the pin allocations in the attached diagram.
Something ain't right and I don't know what it is!
Thanks for any help
Best
Aaron

Looks like one of the generic Chinese 5-axis parallel port boards.
They are usually pretty straight forward, the biggest mistake most people make is not connecting the external power supplies. They need both 12v and 5v supplied, and the inputs take their power from the 12v side.

Thanks for replies
Sorry I didn't think the make of the board was relevant, silly me. Here is a link to the board.

Have you tried external power instead of USB as the usb might not be giving enough power. Don't forget to check the jumper for the correct power input.

Now that we know what your board is and how it should be connected. Can you better describe what is not working or "ain't right" as you describe it? Is it a problem with your inputs, your step motors, something else?
Also it looks like you want to configure two Z-axis. I think this usually works better with a Z and W. Is this for a knee mill, with knee and quill both automated, a twin Z axis router, or something else entirely?

Hey Aaron,
It looks like you bought a cheap crap European bob.
It may have many certificates but can't beat ancient Chinese technology.
Don't do that.
My advice is buy a Chinese silk road inexpensive bob.
It will satisfy you as like as pl7i92 and me.
Here is the link for bob
