Config - Steppers was created by Jeff_in_Wa
When I used the config wizard the first time, I left 2 in the driver microstepping field. It should have been "8"
I'm using 1600 pulse/rev on the drivers, with 200/rev on the ball screws
I absolutely do not want to start all over. I have modifed my .ini file a ton to make my machine work properly
So, I went in and edited the .stepconf file, changing every line that had the 2 in it to 8. Each ?microstep entry
Saved the file, ran Linuxcnc and nothing changed.
Drawing a blank on how to fix this

Using the config tools just allows you to calculate your scale needed. You can manually enter the scale in your ini file. Scale is equal to the number of steps need to go 1 machine unit.
You need to know your micro stepping, gear ratio if using pulleys and ballscrew pitch. Based on your previous posts you had your scale at 80. Which means it would take 80 steps to go 1mm.

Ok the stepconf file is not used for running Linuxcnc.
You need to change the scale value for each axis in your ini file.
Info is here:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/config/steppe...chanical_information
The value shown is set for a 200 step per rev stepper, with a 5mm pitch ball screw & 8 microsteps. The negative value is due to the way I wired the stepper for that axis.
So hopefully that should give you the info required to fix your issue, once you know the pitch of your ballscrew.

Thank you both! Did the math from the link you gave me, and my machine is working great!
