Need homing help please was created by kbec
I am having issues homing my mill. It is a small Sherline mill and I have one limit switch on each axis, I am using a Mesa 7i96 card.

My limit switches are installed so they are triggered at -X, -Y and +Z.

When I try to home it now, for X, the table just travels to the right and since the switch never triggers I had to stop it manually.

The homing instructions page are a little advanced for me.

Thanks

Change the direction of homing by changing the sign of HOME_SEARCH_VEL.

Here are my hal and ini files. In pncconf I have the inputs set as X Home, Y Home and Z home, and not set to limit, is that correct?

I did get the machine to go to the switch for Y, but it stopped when it hit it and did not back off.

Re:
HOME_SEARCH_VEL = -1.000000 The sign determines which way it will search for the switch
HOME_LATCH_VEL = -0.500000 If you the omit the the sign it will back off the switch

HOME = 0.0 I would set this so that it moves a short distance away from the switch ie 2mm
HOME_FINAL_VEL = 0.000000 this setting is the speed it will move to the home position above if it is zero I don't think it will move

It may not be perfect, but at least I am able to get it to go to the switches and then back off a bit. Thanks a bunch

I would make sure your axis directions are right first.
