Hi all,

firstly in INI I define RANDOM_TOOLCHANGER = 1 and testing all in MDI command. I try T1 M6 and looking into tool table. All looks good. Tools and pockets are changed. For example I have T1 into pocket 3. Great....

So after I define REMAP=M6 modalgroup=6 ngc=toolchange

In toolchange macro I have only some set/reset hal pins thats machine specific for tool changing.
Macro works beautifuly. Tool is changing in pockets, but in tool table I still see that T1 is at pocket 1, T2 pocket 2  atc.....
So random changing suddenly dont working.

If I dont use remap, random tool changer work good. So I think, that I must do somethink in toolchange macro, insteed of seting and checking digital pins. But that???

Any idea? Thanks so much Michal

I think that you probably need an M6 in the macro, to do the normal M6 things in addition to your remapped things.

You mean write M6 command into remapper macro?

Yes.

But I assume that you realised that it was quicker to just try it than to wait for my response?

LinuxCNC is clever enough internally to call up the correct pocket for a random toolchanger (it tracks which tool is in which pocket)

The rest of the answer depends on the tool changer. Do you need to move actual axes to change tools? What sort of sequencing is involved?

I have a feeling that someone has done one of these before. Have you searched this forum?

Thanks, there is a big thread about the same machine. But the topic is very old, more than 10 years, and I was thinking if there is a better (correct) way. I think it was made in Classic Ladder .
I will also use for GUI probe basic .
