Hi Folks,
I'm trying to get the 7i76e + 7i83 combination to work.
At the Moment i did not write anything to my .hal File. My goal so far is that the 7i83 just shows up in the Hal components when i start the machine.
I think it has do to something with sserial_port_0=00xxxx what do i have to change to get things going?
The follwoing snippet is the begining of my existing hal file. At the moment the maschine runs flawlessly but i want to reconfigure my servo drives for analog input/speed control.
Oh and what is the purpose of the LEDs CR7/CR8? It is not mentioned in the MAN.
Thanks for the help!

CR7 and CR8 are status LEDs
The red LED should illuminate when power is applied and the green LED should blink when communication is established.
The red LED indicates a fault (and at power up you will at minimum have a watchdog fault)
sserial_port_0=00xxxx is fine so the trouble lies elsewhere

So what else might it be? What can i check that the 7i83 shows up in the HAL Configuration ?
CR7 is on permanently.
In the 7i83 manual TXA and TXB is mentioned. In the 7i76e manual they are named RS-422 TX+ / RS-422 TX-
I made the asumption, that TXA is TX+ and TXB is TX-.
Of course 7i83's TX has to be connected to 7i76e's RX.
When connected correctly the 7i83 should show up in the HAL Configration without any change in die .hal itself?

Did you follow the serial cable color chart in the 7I76E manual?
