linear encoder wiring was created by spontarelliam
I have a 6 wire linear scale that I would like to connect to my MESA 7i77, but I need help understanding the wiring. Attached are the wire labels on the scale. Below is how I've wired it so far, but I'm unclear what to do with the RH- wire as well as the QA0, QB0, and IDX0 pins on the 7i77.
7i77 - Linear scale
QA0 - NC
/QA0 - XA-
GND - 0V
QB0 - NC
/QB0 - XB-
+5V - +5V
IDX0 - NC
/IDX0 - I-
Thanks for your help.

That should work, though normally you would connect to the QA,QB,IDX pins on the
7I77 and leave the /QA, /QB, /IDX pins unconnected.
You do need to jumper the 7I77 for single ended (TTL) inputs.
No idea what the RH pin is, do you have any documentation
that describes this pin?

Ah, here I thought I had read the documentation properly, but somehow skipped over the single ended input jumpers. Switching the three jumpers fixed the problem using the wiring I already had. RH- is still disconnected, and this is an Acu-Rite Absolute Zero II linear scale for future reference.
Thanks!
