HI all.

I'm an absolute beginer to linuxCNC, so please, be a little patient with me.

I have several questions, buy I will divide them in diferent threads to keep it clean and organized.

I want to CNC a minilathe. The harware is:
Raspberry Pi 4 with linuxCNC 2.8 ( linuxcnc.org/docs/html/getting-started/getting-linuxcnc.html )
Mesa 7C80
CL86T v4 Stepper controller for Z axis: (www.omc-stepperonline.com/index.php?rout...)%20manual%20(1).pdf )

ISV57T-180 stepper for X axis ( www.omc-stepperonline.com/download/iSV57T(S).pdf )

I want to use the error signal from both controllers.

generic 1000ppr with index encoder for spindle.
generic VFD for the spindle
Homemade MPG with 100ppr weel, 4 pos switch for speed selection, single NO switch for axis selection.

Currently I have 7C80b firmware loaded on the board. In the mesa download there are a lot of firmwares. What is the better suited firmware for this use?

Best regards

The standard firmware should be fine
Customization for you hardware would be done in the HAL/INI files

Thanks. Since I had to reflash the card via JTAG, I loaded 7C80d.bit, thinking it was the default firmware. Is this right?
