Can't seem to fit the iso onto a cd was created by steveharr
Hello, I'm having trouble fitting the ISO onto a CD. The CD seems to be about 4 MB short of space!
Anyone else have this issue, is there a way to solve it?
Steve.

Hi
This happens when people use windoze to burn the CD normally.
You need a program which burns a CD from the iso image, not a drag and drop file burner, which treats the iso as a file and then creates another iso from it and the result is too big to fit the CD

There is a step by step to burn the ISO to the CD in the online manual as well as on the download page.

Those were the instructions I followed, tried three times, didn't work either time. I have burned plenty of bootable cd's from disk images in the past, but this doesn't seem to work. I tried: infrarecorder, ImgBurn and CDBurnerXP. All have the facility to burn ISO image to disc. All had the same problem. And the MD5 sum checked out.

I do see that there is a different version on the web site than I have.
My current version is:
ubuntu-10.04-linuxcnc2-i386.iso
vs what is on the web site
ubuntu-10.04-linuxcnc3-i386.iso
I can't download anything so someone else will have to verify the current version.

(74 or 80 minutes)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM#CD-ROM_format
I don't recall how big the ISO is.
