Install on linux mint 18.2

I wanted to thank everyone for the excellent help I received getting my mill up and running.

After following the instructions here ; forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linuxcnc...-or-deb?limitstart=0

and having problems pacthing the kernel I checked in Synaptic Package Manager and found thiis RT kernel ; Linux cnc 4.4.0-trunk-rt-686-pae #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Debian 4.4.1-1~exp1 (2016-02-10) i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

After satisfying the dependencies using the complete how to guide and making the above kernel the default using grub customizer everything worked. I hope this info saves someone some time.

What systems and what latency thanks mate.

You might have seen some posts by me at the end of that thread you linked.

I've stalled at the moment and just gone back to the Wheezy ISO install.

I am running linux mint 18.2 32 bit and getting just over 41000 from the stepconf wizard on the latency. I followed the link below to satisfy the dependencies.

Cheap Chinese BOB, 8602M controllers. I have nativecam embedded and mostly working but having issues with TTT.
Other than that everything is working as desired.
