I think there are some links and discussion early in my Spaceship plasma build. I nearly gave up but Mint was such a breath of fresh air (fixed my monitor too)

I can't quite remember but on my USFF's the tiny internal board caused latency of at least 300,000 so I ripped them out and threw them away. PCW had alluded to this though so I was expecting it. It should be back to normal with the USB.

Don't know if Mint 18.2 with the fruit is going to be as quick as Bare Bones Debian but I was as low as 4,000 with the video card added so I have some head room.

Latency has gone over 800,000 and no WiFi usb dongle.

LinuxCNC only warns you about latency, it doesn't shut down or anything.
So, you could just live with a warning pop-up whenever you download a file, especially as the machine isn't running at the time.

Thanks Andy.

The Latency doesn't just jump when downloading a file, it will jump up when the system is just sitting dormant without me doing anything.

I'm still working on Mint at the moment.
