Just a small hint for those people, who will use gnipsel.com/linuxcnc/uspace/linuxmint19-rt.html

use

sudo make INSTALL_MOD_STRIP=1 modules_install

instead of

sudo make modules_install

this will reduce the initrd image size and the kernel startup process will be the fastest
