The top latency histogram is Debian 9 net install with the Mate desktop... I went to the Porteus page but the download is broken. But I finally found a mirror that worked.
What is the issue with copying large files in Lubuntu 18?

The file manager would crash occasionally while copying large amounts of data to and from an USB drive, leaving some messed up files. Happened on several computers as I was using it for mining, then moved to mint for Nvidia. Some Amd ones still use it.

Was that with Lubuntu 18.04 or an older version of Lubuntu?

Following! I am new to Linux. My machine shop uses HAAS, but we acquired a small Sherline lathe to make some wood handles. Unfortunately, we cannot get Wheezy to work with our UEFI computer. Hopefully, this will solve the problem.

It should be possible to disable UEFI in BIOS, or press F8 or F9 or F12 (depending on the manufacturer) at boot and choose a non UEFI option for the boot USB you are using to install the system.

Thank you for your reply. We got it to work. It was failing to load using the i386 version, but when we tried the AMD64 version for Stretch it worked.
