i have this laptop and i will use it as cnc controller.
its fast,, and i will use mesa via ethernet,, but i have some red number in the latency histogram, letency about 30 usec.. but im worry about the red numbers, off chart bin ct

is it safe to use this laptop? with mesa ethernet

Open terminal, type:
latency-histogram --nobase
Get us a screenshot.

That looks very promising.
While doing that latency test, open more glxgears, like 5 or 10 and maximise and minimise one of the glxgears screens, play a HD youtube video and also maximise and minimise it, copy some files from one folder to another. Do that for at least 15 to 30 minutes and leave the test going for at least an hour.
If the numbers do not jump much, it should be OK.
Do you have a Mesa ethernet board ?

Just make sure that the cores you isolate share the same cache. And disable hyperthreading which appears you have enabled.

i want hyperthreading ,, i will use external motion controller,,, so i assume no need to isolcpus, but i was testing,,,
the most effective tweak,, was set fixed cpu speed + performance governor

if i have low latency + externel motion controller, do i benfit?

this is the best result i have with hyperthreading + no isolcpus

The current theory is that hyper threading is not a good idea with real time. Most of the recommendations for good latency is to disable hyperthreading.
Maybe one of the kernel guys will chime in and give the current thinking.

i agre with u if i use LPT... but with external motion controller,,, i think my current results is so good and enought,,,

no more gain i will get if i disable the HT

also my client using very large decorative gcode,, i want fast machine

with isolcpus,, i decide where the money goes,, to intel or to mesa,
