Ethernet and wifi at the same time issue

I have searched and found a number of posts on this, but they do not seen to resolve my issues.

I can connect the mesa on wired ethernet and it is fine. But my wifi while "connected", will not access the internet work network.
If I deactivate the ethernet, the internet works. Obviously there is a conflict but i can not seem to see where it is. I could have sworn this worked before as well.

The wifi is using dhcp. The ethernet is set to 10.10.10.10 for the mesa. Everything *seems* fine according to the instructions. I am using linuxcnc 2.9 on bookworm.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what I have botched? thanks!

Did you edit the /etc/network/interfaces file or did you use network manager?

Normally Network Manager can do this properly
but wicd cannot setup two interfaces properly:

Wired connection, the settings tab with the IPV4 network IP stuff, click on "routes" and select the "use this connection for local something or another", save, close, reconnect or unplug and plug the RJ45 connector.
