OK that's correct.
You might try cleaning the 5I25/PCI slot connectors
with say 99% IPA and seeing if the card is recognized.
This is most likely a hardware issue of some kind.
I had to order a bottle of 99% because nobody around me has it on the shelf. Finally came in last night I I attacked the card....and things came back to life!
That being said, and so I don't start another needless thread, I have another question for the experts.
I got in to this mess because I was trying to install a touchscreen. I've confirmed that the screen is compatible with Linux and *should* work. I attempted to install the driver and it ended with the touch part still not working and my resolution going all bonkers.
At that point I figured that since my LinuxCNC install was 5+ years old, I might as well just go ahead and do a clean install and update to the latest version. That lead to have all kinds of issues trying to reload my old configs due to the separation of joints and axis on the newer releases. And then a found a recent thread on here that said Wheezy is the best for serial setups, so that's how I ended up here. (Though after realizing I also had the 5i25 problem, I question if my first attempt was also hindered by that.)
So my burning question is, being someone that's not super comfortable with Linux and didn't originally set this machine up, would you advise still trying to get moved over to the newest version or am I on the right path using this seemingly older version under Wheezy?
And what are the chances of getting this touch screen working under either version?
