LOL, i feel sorry for the keyboard!
It is hard for now, but after a while everything starts to fall in place and make sense.
Changing one single thing at a time and testing is much more productive and easy to roll back in case of failure.

The way to push ahead is to note the error and comment out the line causing it with a #
Then when it opens, open halshow (eg. axis menu: show hal configuration)
Then review the pins. You might just have a minor typo. then edit the commented out line to use the correct pin name

Promise!!! I am hoping that moment is coming soon like any minute I got up to line 197 hal c by commenting out and now I have the stepgen parts. It is amazing that i can have joints 1 and 3 work and o and 2 not work for stepgens. I have checked ini and trivkins and joints all line up correctly shows xyyz and 4 joints but only 2 work with the exact same text in each section???? I will take Rod's suggestions and see if i can get further ahead. One good constilation is I am learning lots all I have to do it put it together before I have a brain anyerism -LOL
Thanks again

I made some headway today! I gave up on chasing ghosts in my existing configuration and decided to start all over again. I did a completely new pncconfig barbones setup without limits spindle or home switches. I was successful in getting a installation free of errors yeh!! I was able to get movement on all axis and that was good but no homing or limits that of course was not very good. Started playing around to get limits going until i totally messed up that installation combined with custom ini and hal files. That didn't work. So I started all over again and tryied with limits and estop and probe. Well non of the pins for those limits existed and at this point i cant get the machine to unlock even with no errors. I commented out beginning error lines starting at hal 34. and commented all of those non existing limits in hal. I have 24v at the inputs 04 thru 09 and .4v when the nc switches are activated. I have attached the new ini and hal file to see if anyone can help figure out what is happening. Thanks to all helpers

I was at exactly same point yesterday.
Everything runs perfectly until i add the spindle output.
I figured out that the spindle outputs are on the second half of the board which is internally connected by sserial. As I was testing everything on my desk, I just powered the board via the 5V supply. After digging deeper into the manual, I figured out that the field power needs to be applied as well. Some more LED lighted up, board was working
hope this helps

Startiing on line 34 of hal limits not existing pin does not exist. I commented out all six lines after reltating to non existing pins to get thru with no errors. I checked these pins on TB6 04-09 and they all has voltage of 24v until activated then went to aprox .4v.There may be an issue with the board.
Thanks PCW

forgot to mention that in halshow i could not see any action on pins the only ones i could see were gpio pins and it listed 50 pins. Just for curiosity i looked at all 50 of the pins and tried activating the limit switchs and saw no change

The field I/O (TB4,5,6) is not GPIO.
If you assign TB5 or TB6 I/O pins or spindle (TB4) pins in pncconf and
you get pin not found errors, this most likely means that you do not
have field power applied (TB1 = ORANGE connector)
