EtherCAT is no longer recognized was created by Masa
Hello

If anyone knows, please let me know.

I'm trying to run a milling machine with LinuxCNC + EtherCAT. We are working while checking various settings. Yesterday, when I turned off my PC for the first time in a few days and restarted it, EtherCAT was no longer recognized. When I run "$ ethercat slaves" on the command line, it returns "Failed to obtain number of masters: Failed to open master device / dev / EtherCAT0: No such file or directory". So I confirmed the following.

Change the Ethernet port. Twice
enp2s0-> LAN enp3s0-> EtherCAT

I replaced this. I rewrote and executed EtherCAD settings and ethercat_setup_script.sh. However, the symptoms do not change.

I also replaced the Ethernet cable.

The connection is Beckhoff's EK1100 + EM7004. The EK1100 lamp no longer flashes.

By switching enp2s0 and enp3s0, the internet connection etc. will change without any problem.

Is there anything else I can look for and deal with? Or is it the only way to try reinstalling the whole thing?

thank you.

and please check if there exists an rules file for ethercat in /etc/udev/rules.d/

if it still not works, we will have to look in the dmesg what happens at ethercat start...

Thanks for your advice.

There is no problem with the MAC address. I also ran an update.
However, nothing has changed in the current situation.

I'll try to reinstall the whole thing.

Thank you very much.
