Hi,

I am trying to create an "Initcmd.xml" file for an IO module.
I generated the device description xml file using TwinCAT 3.
Now I am stuck! I am not able to figure out what to map out of all of the initcmds present in the exported xml.

I have attached my device description xml file here.
I hope somebody can help me regarding this.

Thanks and Regards
Abhishek

hi,
So basically the way Igh Ethercat master works is that it reads from sii memory of slave for configuration and odot's sii memory is blank.Connect odot with twincat and extract the proper sii data that has to be written and then use
ethercat sii_write command to upload it onto odot's sii memory. I don't remember how to extract this .bin file in TwinCAT top of my mind but it is fairly simple. Also one clue I had come across the solution by reading dmesg log error (some incomplete config something). search for that in google too.

cheers!!

hello,

I've looked at the EEPROM of the coupler and it's almost blank except for the vendor information at the beginning. I tried to burn the manufacturer's ESI (i.e. xml file) into eeprom, but nothing changed. Can you recall how to extract the bin file? or give a Google keyword.

thanks.

I found twincat totally useless. I just use ethercat pdos and save to a text file.
then write the xml. we've done a couple of no name IO modules and a servo drive that way.

Hi.rodw
Your point is correct, provided that the "EtherCAT PDO" can correctly recognize the PDO, I have configured a board IO module, and his PDO is complete. But I'm on my pluggable coupler and there's no feedback. I'm thinking about how to manually map PDOs, but because I've been in the hospital lately, there's no way to experiment with some of my ideas.

Hi,

Sorry I don't remember much of it.
But I think it should be in Ethercat Tab -> Advance Setting.
there are multiple of setting which you can look into
