Beckhoff modules was created by Masa
hello everyone.

Recently, there was talk of retrofitting an old NC milling machine, and it became necessary to prune the Beckhoff module. Beckhoff representative

EL5101 x2 -> EL5102
EL4132 x2 -> EL4134
EL1088 x2 -> EL1889

I received such a proposal.
Is this possible?

Where can I find the latest list of available Beckhoff modules?

thank you.

Here is where I start when looking at those modules
www.beckhoff.com/en-en/products/i-o/ethercat-terminals/

Looks like they propose single units with all channels in, should be fine.

Hello Hakan

My question wasn't clear enough.
Please bear with me as I am translating Japanese into English using Google Translate before posting.

What I want to know is LinuxCNC+EtherCAT driver
earlier
Is it possible to use EL5102, EL4134, EL1889? I remember being told that EL502 was not registered a while ago, but I would like to know if it has been registered since then.

wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?EtherCatDriver

The EL5101 does not seem to be mentioned on this page, but it is recognized by the driver.

I can't say that I couldn't use the Beckhoff module after I bought it, so I'm researching it in advance.

thank you.

I would go here to look for directly supported devices github.com/sittner/linuxcnc-ethercat/tree/master/src
It seems the devices you list are not directly supported.

Still, the devices will work. You need to use the "generic" driver and construct some 20 lines of xml to define the PDOs. I have done that myself for an unsupported stepper motor driver and it does require looking in manuals, finding out details about the device and testing. Definitely possible if you like that kind of work.
Or, ask for the supported devices from the supplier. I guess they cost a bit more and take up some more space in the control cabinet, but in the end they will do the same thing.
