refclockSyncCycle question was created by papagno-source
Hi , at all.
in many example ethercat.xml configuration files, the values of refClockSyncCycles are different.
Sometimes -1 , sometimes 1 , sometimes 5 .
If you use a servo period in the ini file of 1 ms , what is the correct value to use ?
Keeping in mind that appTimePeriod is 1000000
Thanks

5 should mean that clock is synced every 5 cycles. But its better to have first slave with refclock and -1 will let the first slave manage the clock referencing.

My refClock setting is 1.
I will try the value -1.
Sometimes, in a rare way, when LNCNC starts for the first ignition of the Lathe and after having turned on the auxiliaries, moving the X or Z axis, the axes shake.
I am forced to simply restart LNCNC and the problem at the next restart is no longer present.
It seems as if the ethercat BUS is not synchronized.
The drives are Delta ASD2,
I will try the value -1.

I left the refClock value at -1 , but it gets worse.
The vibration problem is present at every restart of LNXCNC.
So I reset it to 1. It would probably be better to set it to 2 ?

By increasing the value of refClock to for example 5 ms, what actually happens, do I update the data on the bus every 5 ms or is the data updated every 1 ms of the appTimePeriod anyway?

IIRC 5 means every 5 cycles

Maybe I formulated the question badly.
The value of refClock, for example, at 5 ms, represents in ms the frequency of data update on the ethercat bus?
Increasing the value of RefClock, the speed of writing the positions by LNCNC in the drive, also increases or is this managed by the value appTimePeriod
