Hi there,
a friend convinced me to go the Ethercat way. I got A6-400W-Ethercat Servos.
I followed the "How to use A6 Servomotors Software" guide by OMC but after the "Auto-Tuning" my Servos or better to Say the Couplers are still movable by Hand. If i increase the gein when Tuning, it starts to play airhorn.

Could someone maybe advise me How to properly get started?

You mean, that you didn`t tune your Servos at all?
In my world a Servo need to be tuned connected to the machine and the load it has to work with to work properly and performant.

I'd be wary of any auto-tuning software.

It might work, but could also be placebo.

Im in the same boat, going to need to tune my a6 servos soon. did you get the tuning software to work? I havnt messed with it much but I couldn't get my win10 desktop to talk to the servo drive. I will have to fire up my laptop, as my desktop now has win11. Im kinda hoping there is an easy way to send parameters to the drives through the linuxcnc computer through the ethercat. I will say I have messed with a Haas VF11 mill, and I was able to move its big y axis ball screw by hand a few degrees. I dont think you can really get rid of all the "mushyness" in a servo.

in many cases autotune broke parameterisation, for example Siemens s120 with their servos working like a charm, but if You use third party supplier of servos, just be sure You are using parameters delivered by Your supplier of servo, if supplier have not parameters for Your driver, don't take it, auto tune mostly broke settings, same manufacturer of drive and servo have to work, but i think it can be price reason (in comparison to Panasonic MINAS A6B for example)

You can download the software in the same page where you buy them. I throw this here because someone will need it, they removed it from the product page:  software stepperonline OMC A6 help.stepperonline.com/en/article/how-to...series-servo-edqavw/

I still don't get how to auto tune them even if there is an autotuning section inside the software.
Oh and try different USB cables, some doesn't just work, the software is straight on if the servo is usb connected it recognize it if you select the right port of your computer. Please update here if you succesfully auto tune them and explain. Thanks
