How do i know if my EtherCat Install is right

Hi All so i have a question
so how do i know if my Ethercat install is successful, I check the Master is active the Slaves are there
I now need to do the HAL files and config xml 
i have this not sure if it is correct
i have 6 servo motors , 

If ethercat reports your six slaves, its properly installed. The next step is to build a xml file which lcec_configgen does the heavy lifting for and then configure then move on to the ini and hal files.

I have bad experience with xml file.
I don't know why, but a slight difference in the block order made everything work fine, or the motors wouldn't turn...
Therefore, I recommend writing a file for one slave first, testing it thoroughly, adding another slave, testing it again and so on until the last one.
This take more time, but if something will not want to work, at least you will know where the error occurred...
