Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

Murphy, your picture shows a magnetic encoder, not optical. The Omron e6b2 encoders have 4 different versions, with different voltages and polarity.
If it is a direct copy then your index pulse is on the orange or orange/orange with red stripe depending on version.

Hi guys! I'm also trying to configure closed loop spindle on my RT1052 EC500. I mounted a Hall Sensor to my spindle and I see it under remora.input.31. I have a motor to spindle ratio of 1.8:1, I used Cakeslob config example with slight modifications. The spindle run but doesn't look closed loop since the rpm is not right but I can vary the speed with the override. I'm sure i'm missing something, do you need to configure the PRUencoder in the config.txt you upload to controller or everything is done in the .ini and .hal file? My mill is a Bridgeport with 2 gears (Low=50-1300 and High=1300-5000). For now I only want to configure closed loop on the high range and i'm gonna do the gearchange later. Any help will be really appreciated.

ok cool.

I've just built a new image could you give it a whirl if it doesn't work I'll say that its not recommended for the 5 with 16GB only tested with 4GB.

Ok, the 16GB board was only released at the beginning of the year, maybe you were thinking of the 8GB boards rod. So I don't think it's a Linuxcnc issue but a kernel issue.

What I would suggest you do is load up an sd card with an Raspberry Pi image, boot it up and relay the output of
uname -a

I'm thinking it may require a 6.13.x or 6.12.x kernel. As the 6.6.y branch is active that keren may work but can't certain.

Adaptive feed and feed hold are core to how plasmac for plasma machines operates.   However it does not use the gcode on/off capabilities that I have seen.

feed-hold issued during a tapping cycle could be catastrophic as it just stops xyz motion and does nothing to spindle.   Feed-inhibit would be appropriate then as it alllows synch motion as used in tapping to complete.

Adaptive feed along with external offsets allows for some cool cut recovery operations on a plasma or probably any jet cutting machine (e.g. Laser or water jet)

I was under the impression that LCNC already disables feed-hold in the background during tapping or other spindle-synchronized movements.  I think activating feed-hold has no effect until the tool is back at the retract plane.  Which is why I didn't think adding feed-hold disable feature to the s-curve Tp was necessary.

But I could see a use for adaptive feed enable/disable during g-code.  Hope I didn't give the impression I didn't think it was useful.

I can;t really help as I have never used twincat.
Scott has an esi parser as part of the Ethercat driver (I think) now hosted by etherlabmaster . Have you tried it? github.com/linuxcnc-ethercat/esi-data

Linuxcnc 2.9 built from git repo today just uspace & dev packages no docs
Mesaflash built from source today, version 3.5.10
Instead of xfce I built the image with Mate, std debian config looks different to std Mint install.

Tested mesaflash to just get the pins from my 7c81 clone tested ok
Test loading the hm2_spix driver for the rpi via a halrun session ok
Quick latency test ok

I modeled up a pawn in fusion 360 and opened up the post in linuxcnc and it's still the same. Anybody have any ideas how to change the Z so the base of the pawn is on the left

When I home the machine the switches are activated on x when it moves down(x+) away from the spindle. Z homes towards the spindle and hits the switches. It then marks where g54 is.
The cutter is also cutting in the opposite direction.(In axis preview )But the axis are moving in the correct direction. X axis moves from X+ to X-(towards center line) Z moves from Z+ to Z- (towards spindle)

I have attached my ini file

I currently wont recommend one either. That said I am printing parts for a Voron 2.4 as
I am typing this reply. The worst thing for companies that try to follow the whole "You will
own nothing and be happy" is the people who will show them otherwise.

cornholio-
as I watched that video I was questioning how long Louis could go before taking a breath.

Before that video I had figured this situation would make Bambu lab back off, after that video I
wont buy or recommend a Bambu Lab machine ever again.
They sealed there fate.
