1. It's not a '.comp' file but '.c' (the 'comp' format is a more recently added way of creating kinematics files ) also you must not change the file name as the trt-kinematics consists of more than just 'trtfuncs.c'
2. if you want to try to compile it with halcompile just use my file to replace the standard 'trtfuncs.c' file and then do3. If halcompile fails to compile it then you probably need to build linuxcnc locally from the repo first,  replace the 'trtfuncs.c' and recompile using 'make'

if its not the lastest one for the 1500mx, it is not the one we are talking about. keep that in mind. the older one is the same tp as is already in linuxcnc.

and compile it's.
but show error can't to unpack

what I'm wrong for compile file ?

FYI: I compile on new PC to test first , Because I fear this made my CNC PC broken and can't to working.

No, it is your drive.
Sorry, I am not being very helpful.
But you got to start with what the drive delivers to linuxcnc.
I doubt that it is a 64-bit float. Maybe a 64-bit integer, but also unlikely.
Anyway, you need to know what datatype the drive delivers.
When that is known, it can be converted and taken care of.

Actually the "ethercat pdos" doesn't list the datatype.
You can try with "lcec-configgen", it is better at guessing the datatype.
Nothing beats the manual though.

Sorry, but I can't understand why look at what the drive can handle.
The problem is related to linuxcnc.
The created pin of pos-command is declared as a 32-bit float.
The drive returns more than 8,000.000 revolution counts and so after the movement of 326 cm, the variable becomes negative.
My question is: can we declare the created pin pos-command as a 64-bit float, so that we can handle larger values?

how do we do it, declaring: halType="double"?

Ahh... missed AXES = 3, now in. Tried GEOMETRY = xyzac (can you confirm this would be correct?)

And I put everything back into Post Gui, except still posts the following and wont let kickoff.

 

In the bash prompt, you type in the command "ethercat pdos". This will list all pdos of all ethercat slaves in your system.
You have to wade through that output and see what options the device give you.

i use debian 10 with linuxcnc 2.9.pre0 and ethercat 1.5.

for use Pdo at 64 bit write in xml :

I use Mitsubishi MRj5 and it have encoder absolute value multiturn , without battery memory wirh resolution 26 bit.

With 26 bit you have much count for revolution and 32 bit pos-command hal pin, is full in 326 cm travel axis , with screew 10 mm pitch.

In drive parameter gear normally 1/1 , if you make a long machine with travel 10 meter , not can use 1/1 gear in drive , because after 326 cm moving , the pos-command return on -326 cm and linuxcnc return following error. For resolve now have increase gear in drive at 1/100 and can travel now 32600 cm. But normally is good have gear at 1/1 and use a 64 bit variable for command position and feedbak position.

I have bought this engraving machine to retrofit for my end use and want to learn from it. I want to know what size of steppers? I am thinking of attaching steppers using couplers, but is this type good?
