That is a nice price, very nice in fact, considering how everything has gone up.
Thank you very much, but for now i can not buy any ...

I like parallel port, i do not like RPI, so here is my take:
-use HP Z200 or Z210 old workstations, they have a parallel port header, built like a tank and never fail
-Some Dell 980 something or another have built in parallel ports, the "tower" version only
-HP 800 or older 8000 series small form with PCI-E port with add on parallel port cards
-On the big ones you can put 2 or more parallel port cards for more IO
-Mesa 7i92T, connects to PC through EtherNET so easy to find PC's, can do 34 IO pins at very, very high speeds so you can use more microstepping on your drives for much smoother motion and less vibrations
-Mesa 7i96S, has headers for everything, EtherNET, very fast, and can also do a parallel port at very high speeds.

Any progress on this?
You can always use a USB to boot LinuxCNC from it and use it even to control the machine, without installing anything.
Will not work for Probe Basic as that needs to be installed, though.

Qtdragon interface touchscreen no longer responds during operation.

Category: Qtvcp

First thing i would check is if the monitor and PC are properly grounded, touch screens are now usually capacitive so very susceptible to EMI.

interresting surge protection view

Category: Computers and Hardware

It does not say what kind/type of surge
1-from the grid due to something disconnecting elsewhere and voltage going above tolerance
2-from lightning strikes and the resulting induced surge on the grid wiring
First is quite easy to protect from although absolutely not 100% safe, using fuses and varistors on the power input, fixed a fair share of those, i would say 95% fix rate so far.
Second is a cr@p shoot as it is unpredictable and varies a lot on how much energy got dumped, had from easy fixable to utterly destroyed.
As a side note, lightning strikes usually cause damage to whatever has long cables, and it is proportional, so longer cables = more chances of something letting out the magic smoke. Cabled camera surveillance systems and ISP routers suffer from this often.

Probe Basic Lathe - Konfiguration von Axis übernehmen

Category: QtPyVCP

Google translate:
Hello community,
I have completed almost all the settings for my lathe with the "Axis" interface and am now slowly thinking about transferring the whole thing to the "Probe Basic Lathe interface".

What is the best way to go about this and what do I need to pay attention to?

Tips and advice?

"Probe Basic Lathe" is already installed on LinuxCNC 2.9 and also works in its basic configuration (starts without error messages).

Thanks and regards
-
Moving it to QtPyVCP section for now.

I left some questions on the other topic due to strange title/line as USB does not go with the rest of the tittle.
Do you get the same error when you start the spindle without RS485 connected to VFD and without RS485 connected to PC? Those are two distinct situations.
This might be a very dangerous situation, as it is an electrical/wiring/shielding/grounding issue, verifying wiring would be the first thing to do.
VFD must be grounded, spindle motor wires should be shielded and shield bolted to VFD and motor, using a ferrite core (doughnut) on the motor wires at the VFD is advisable.
