Thanks for the input Tommy.
If you are thinking the power supply had a rectifier failure that is not the case.
I only have DC going to the 7i77.
I did measure it both in AC and DC mode and it only measures DC.
Or am I not following you?

That is what i needed and that is good.
Also do measure form the + terminal on the 7i77 to the machine ground and again from the - terminal to the ground, both AC and DC measurements.

Tommy:
There is no bleedthough and the power supply is fine I even check it with my oscilloscope but any other ideas are welcome.

Peter:
I blew off the boards and inspected everything thoroughly to no avail.
Then I disconnected every IO plug which changed nothing.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated as I just got a new spindle and some AC brushless servos and I am ancy to finally get cutting some parts.

Nice, but that leaves only wiring, namely the positive side going to switches is loose/nicked/not making good contact.

How could that be when I disconnected all of the I/O yet the problem still persists?

Hmmm , so just to be on the same page, you have removed all the plugs from 7i77 except the DB25, 5V power and 24V power, but still get that error, right ?

Can you take pictures of the 5i25 as it sits inside the PC and the 7i77 ?

Just to confirm Tommy yes no IO plugged in only db25 and two power connectors. I also measured the power supply on the PC and it was all within spec.

Peter do you think that one or both of the cards died?
If so do you have any in stock I could buy?
What is the cost to repair them?

It could be as simple as a voltage divider resistor on the board is faulty, but PCW would need to point out where the location is and what the resistor values are.
