Moving your Desktop menu bar depends on which desktop environment you are using (eg cinnamon, plasma, xfce ....)

If you don't know, open a terminal and run:

echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP

Maybe that will help to find a solution.

On my mill I have to run gmoccapy in full screen mode and cannot get at the menu bar either. I switch to another Workspace by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Cursor. But this might depend on your desktop environment.

ctrl/alt /Back arrow takes me back to a black screen which awaits my password
Seems mad to have to give password to quit but heyho ?

ctrl/alt/ arrow right takes me there directly but on trying to return via the icon I am told linux is still running do I want to restart it ?
I dont cos I will need to rehome and I dont want to lose settings I have put in. but if I select no it wont go back to EML screen

So after much messing about I discover that control / alt / cursor right takes me back to desktop directly. Ctrl/alt/ cursor left brings me back to my program screen.
I now get what you were trying to tell me Aciera . Does Linux cnc do anything in a straightforward way???????

I think my problem is being so inexperienced with linux, and those who are experienced expect me to be quicker on the uptake .
It is hard learning to walk when everyone else is running.
