Truetype-Tracer not working in Nativecam

Hi,
I have succeeded with getting nativecam installed and so far all of the subroutines work except the truetype-tracer.

This is what I am getting.

It is possible that lcnc reports the wrong message. Make sure you have a tool small enough to cut your shape without gouging the workpiece

In a terminal if you simply enter the command : 'truetype-tracer' without params, it should print gcode to engrave 'Hello world'

Hi Fern,

The truetype-tracer in terminal does as expected returning the gcode for "Hello World" but NativeCam in linuxcnc is giving me random line errors and all of them state /scripts/ncam.ngc file cannot be read. he file is in the /ncam/scripts directory so I don't understand why I am getting the error messages. This just started after updating to the latest version of tt-t

Hi Bill,

Run lcnc in a terminal and post the content of the terminal as well as ncam.ngc that lcnc can not load.

You may have to uninstall NativeCam and start over

Hi Bill,

I recommend you do all this

• Start lcnc and check your version of NativeCAM with Menu->Help->About then exit lcnc. Update to version 0.1.8 if you still have 0.1.7
• Delete '/home/wwp/linuxcnc/configs/my-mill/ncam' completely
• Restart lcnc. It should start with a new template using End Mill Change
• Select a tool from the list no larger than 10 mm in diameter
• Add a circle after End Mill Change.
• If lcnc does not load 'ncam.ngc' try to open it with Axis or Gmoccapy which ever you use.
• If not successful attach '/home/wwp/linuxcnc/configs/my-mill/my-mill.ini' adding '.txt' to the extension when you reply
• Also attach '/home/wwp/linuxcnc/configs/my-mill/ncam/scripts/ncam.ngc' adding '.txt' to the extension

Nothing seems wrong at first sight. Maybe updating NativeCAM will change something. However I really need to see your inifile

Deleting ncam completely and restarting lcnc seems to have worked . No more error messages. Thank you very much for your help. I am looking forward to using the functionality of NativeCam.
