In a terminal
python -v
Will show the Python version used.
2.8 is when everything moved from python 2 to python 3, so upgrading might not work if it is on python 2.
Also, what does
lsb_release -a
Return?

Does PathPilot have anything more recent?
-
Other solutions would be a 7i92 (without T as 7i92T might also not work, it is new), or 5i25 or 6i25, since you also have a 7i76.
And if you need analog (probablu do as 7i97 is) use a 7i83 and a 7i85 for encoder feedback.
That does imply a lot of editing, so weigh in the pros and cons before jumping in.
Sorry for not being able to help more but i never used PP, this is just what i gathered from reading this forum.

I currently have the most recent version of pathpilot (2.10.1), and this is what it's built on... I'm considering a 7i92 & 7i77&7i76, as I do need analog servo interface and I already have the 7i76 for IO. Before I go and jump into even more hardware, I'll wait a little to see if anyone else sees something different in the log (attached). I'm not a software guy, so I'm grasping at straws here. Perhaps Pathpilot can support the 7i97T. (Wishful thinking, I know). I appreciate all the help you've given me. I just wish the 5i25/7i77 was available back when I started this journey, I would've gone that route. I know the 5i25 is supported by Path Pilot.

I wonder, is there a way to update the Hostmot2 driver and could that make a difference?
