Between the output on the Mesa and the GND, if using 7i76E, >7i76ED would have them between +24V and output.
Beware of the polarity of the diodes, although Mesa has output current limiting i think, reversing the diode will end up shorting the output when active.

The Mesa output will be the same as my field power, correct? Does this drawing look correct, minus the diode?

Normally you would not connect anything to VIN.
The common for switches would be VFIELD

I cleaned up my drawing and put it in the correct thread here ... does that look like the correct way to wire a solenoid ... and everything else for that matter? Thx
