THCAD 10 to Herocut 55i (1:1)

Hi! I have bought a THCAD 10 to use and now have a new plasma Herocut 55i (1:1)
how can I connect it? Can I build a voltage divider or can I somehow rebuild to a THCAD 300? I guess that I can’t calibrate with that high voltage? (I have a oscilloscope with insulated probes With max 1300v )

Hi! I have now connected the resistors. Does this look right? I only ordered 1w resistors, because I couldn’t find 2w high voltage ones…

Personally I would put the resistors inside the plasma as then you would get better protection re the current

you could use IEC connectors or figure of 8

I would put the divider in the machine. I would not export raw arc very far...... when I had an old Powermax 350, and used a raw arc voltage output into a Proma THC 150 (I knew nothing then and only know a little more now), I bolted the enclosure to the side of the plasma cutter and within it I located the PromaTHC 150, and just had 1 connector on the side of it with those circular connectors.

I have since used them extensively, but I use all sorts of pin connections (2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9 and 10 pin connectors so that there cannot be a mix up on wiring or voltages etc)

Thanks! I will move the resistors inside the machine. My Herocut plasma has these metallic connector (but smaller), but I share your thoughts but didn’t want to tamper with warranty. But I will move the resistors as I share your consern. 

But Shall the resistors only be in series? That’s not what I imagined a voltage divider? Can someone please make a picture how I should connect the resistors.

the connectors is 7 and 4 pin so I can’t mix them up.

not so ... simply in series. the divider is in the thcad board. one in series to pin 1 and one in series to pin 2
