One of the gantry ones, I have ordered a second hand one on ebay, but it will but be here for quite some time.

It would be good to know an off the shelf new replacement unit. If i find one suitable i will post it here for reference.

Ok, move the one from X to the gantry, and put the new/used one on X.
That way you have the same thing on both sides of the gantry.
Although that might not be needed with a used one if it is the same.

There is a problem in one of my drives and is causes the fuse for the dc motor supply to blow up at the panel. On inspection there was a blown cap. I replaced all 3 caps but no joy.
Check for a failed short device in the H-bridge.

DC motor control in general, I have used AMC drives a long time ago. Maybe you can find something that works for you from here
