Potentially. although I have done some testing using a calibrated fluke multimeter alongside the arduino and they were fairly close. But my plan is to run some more tests as soon as I can find some more scrap.

Also the program does not update the arduino display as regularly as it does for the height control.

The unit says it is a max of 90V 98v which is obviously not correct but looking at the charts I have found so far, some of them mention 150v cutting. When using the max function on my meter I pick up what I believe are spurious spikes up to 300v, but I only get 135V typically at a max with the meter showing live measurements, so not sure how those charts came about. I'd love to have access to a data recorder/scope to get a better pic. A THCAD would have helped a heap, live and learn. I can't warrant spending the same money on postage as the unit.

A lot of the reason I put this out there is to try to get find some more info.

I am using an arduino uno along with some optos, regulated supply etc that I made up from a design by a bloke who calls himself swolebro.

Swolebro was on here for a while, but not recently.  forum.linuxcnc.org/forum/search?searchus...te=all&childforums=1

Hi Andy,

I thought he must have been on here at some point, he has a few nice videos on youtube regarding linuxcnc, hal files etc.

I reached out to him recently about using his code in my own THC version and he told me he's actually sold his plasma table which might explain his absence. He managed to make the THC work fairly well from all reports.

I started kicking myself as soon as my mesa card arrived as I really should have ordered a thcad at the same time. The post to Australia effectively doubles the price of the unit, which goes against the original aim of this whole project.

Now, after spending $350 au on the mesa 7i96s, the machine (not including plasma) has cost just a touch over $1000 au. So to add a thcad with postage will now be a 5th of the total value of the machine.

Does anyone stock them in Aust???

Thanks RodW,

You were spot on, my cal was off as it turns out I cannot read my own notes correctly.

I made a change to the volt ratio in the THC code only the other day and when I did, I accidentally deleted too much of the code (Vref value in particular) and I either typed or read it wrong when I put it back in the program.  I'm yet to do any cutting though but I have confirmed that 2.5V is now reading 125V on the THC. Now i just need to do some cutting to see how it reads in anger.

I keep these in stock as well.

Any questions shoot me a PM.
