Tom, I think after he saw my reply about using the PlasmaC section he started one there as well.

Edit: the other one could probably be deleted.

Move this topic and change the title,
Move the relevant posts one by one from the other topic to this one.
That is the procedure to clean this up.
For future reference : No double posting ! :)

Ok I changed my .ini file to match your settings and it didn't crash but some other odd things happened.

My THC voltages were all over the place so I checked my encoder velocity in .hal show and it looked good so I then checked my arc-voltage scale and offset settings and they were back to default even tho the .hal file shows my custom ones.

I tried to change them live in hal show and they wouldn't take.

The good news is I disabled the THC and tried a test cut and IT WORKED!!!
MY FIRST CUT!! :)

So probing is working but my settings are being ignored.

Oh man Im sorry tommylight ... I figured the other post would just get deleted so I started a new one with the same name name in the correct location so phill could find it.

In addition when linuxcnc first starts it looks like my voltages are OK for about 1 second and then they must go back to default settings.

This shows up in terminal during that time:
Axis window is 930 x 664

62914563
31457283
67108867
69206019

No worries, i do not mind it, but it makes a mess for new users.

Those numbers are just Axis reporting the ID od the GladeVCP panels it is loading, that is normal. Actually it is a good sin, telling you the four panels have loaded.

The config you posted originally was incomplete in that it did not have all the cfg files. Are you setting the Voltage Offset and the Voltage Scale in the config panel and then saving them?

I have the voltage scale and offset in the .hal file near the bottom.

The config folder I sent was everything I had simply zipped it and uploaded. Unless you needed the base folder as well (the one I used as a baseline for plasmac) Do you know what program is responsible for creating the missing files? PnCConf?
