I was made aware today that each increment/decrement of the torch height override is a 0.1V change of the target voltage. This equates to approximately 0.01mm (0.0004"). I have never had the need to use this feature and I am not sure whether that is too fine a control. Would it be better at 1V per increment/decrement giving a change of approximately 0.1mm (0.004")
Also at the moment the initial height change distance is hard coded and then adjusted by THC. If I need to change the above then I could use the height per volt setting for this as well.

I have only used this once. In previous versions there was a pretty massive drop down you could choose from so it was a lot quicker to adjust than a spin box.
I might have misunderstood you but...
I think that approach may become confusing and a seperate parameter should be used. The reason for this is that if you drop in on the Plasma Primer linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/plasma/plas...mer.html#_cnc_plasma
and review the graph of 16000 readings and take the inverse of the volts per mm to convert to height per volt, the data showed that the height per volt for that machine was measured at 0.753 volts per mm with 99.4% confidence.
So a masochistic user may repeat my experiment and come up with a similar value.
Seeing a number change by such an odd increment (if I got your thinking right) would confuse the user.
I think it would be less confusing if the increment could be set as a more natural value (maybe chose the increment from something like 0.10, 0.20, 0.25,0.50,1.0)

Yeh I know now. They taught me that responsibility for a receiver understanding a message lies with the sender and I initially got confused.
I did have a look at the gui.....
I think 1V may be too coarse when you see cut heights like 1.75mm hence my suggestion of allowing a user config of this value by allowing selection of the increment from a defined list so the display rounded up or down neatly.
eg. to go from 1.75 mm to 1.8mm needs a 0.5 volt increment by your rule of thumb,
Is the spinbox is the right method to alter the variable?

Can you define what THC Threshold does? seems to be MIA in the docs.
